Supporting the most vulnerable in our community
We have a really mixed team varying in age, ability, race, sex, background etc. What’s wonderful is everyone gets along and new friendships have been created. We see our team as one big family and we would love you to be a part of it.
As a volunteer you can expect full training, DBS Check, uniform and ID Badge, flexibility, roles to suit you and no minimum or maximum hours required.
With availability throughout the Tees Valley, there are many roles within a ‘Community Volunteer’ which are:
- Helping to set up and serve on our free market stalls
- Attending events and helping to fundraise
- Leaflet dropping
- Street walks to engage with people who are unfortunately homeless
- Create hygiene bags for men, women and children
- Collect donations and drop items off (driving role)
- Help with our crisp packet project – recycling crisp packets into sleeping bags
- Helping in the community hub from answering the telephone, booking people in for showers, serving on the retail counter, cleaning and tidying, sorting through donations, steaming and hanging clothing, sorting ‘basic essential’ bags for people who are homeless to name a few
- Being a support for new projects that run as and when throughout the year
Reducing begging
on the streets
We also welcome staff ‘volunteering days’ for organisations who are looking to give back to their community.
There are lots of ways to get involved and something for everyone. We appreciate any time you can spare and are extremely grateful for your help.
